·         Manchester, Soup Kitchen
·         Sony AVCHD Video Camerax2 , Tripod, Clip Mic
·         Train journey to the gig.
·         We filmed a Lunar C gig and conducted an interview with the artist.

Daniel Boyle & Elliot McCabe
It was a good idea to take two camera’s as we could capture the gig from two different angles, we had one camera at the back mounted on a tripod framed towards the stage, whilst the other camera we took was handheld so we can capture some more dynamic shots.
We had some difficulties when editing the interview, the camera we used the on-board mic was defective and the sound was corrupt so the interview was not useable.
Also, looking back on the footage some of it is quite dark it would have been a good idea to take a mountable light.
29/11/13
·         Matt Gilbertson’s home studio
·         Sony AVCHD Video Camera, Tripod, Clip Mic & Boom Mic
·         Drove to filming location
·         Filmed Matt Gilbertson who is a singer songwriter recording at his home studio and also rehearsing, also filmed an interview.
Daniel Boyle
The Mise-en scene that was in shot worked well as it featured a drum kit, production software on screen as it showed an unsigned artist making his music from home, it helped that it’s easily visible that it’s within a home location.
The home studio was full of equipment so it was tricky to find a correct position to conduct the interview, the framing for the interview looks cramped.
1/12/13
·         Loor a Los Heroes band members garage.
·         Sony AVCHD Video Camera, Tripod, Clip Mic & Boom Mic
·         Drove to filming destination
·         Filmed a local band based in Warrington called Loor a Los Heroes, filmed they rehearsing and conducted an interview with the full band.

Elliot McCabe
Filming in a garage worked well because it symbolised the struggle of being an unsigned small band who struggle for places to play and rehearse.
Looking back on the footage I feel that camera should have been left alone whilst the interview took place, at times the camera zoomed in where I thought it was unnecessary, as it could have damaged the quality of the footage.
3/12/13
·         Local bar in Warrington
·         Sony AVCHD Video Camerax2 , Tripod, Clip Mic
·         Local to the college, short distance to travel.
·         Filmed a Rock/Punk band called Electric Mafia; they allowed us to interview them and to also perform for us so we could feature them in our documentary.
Scott Brace
I think the range of dynamic shots we got when shooting this band worked well, and we used a lot of them in our documentary because as a group we thought they worked well and we can overlay them over interviews for extra dynamism.
I think we could have got better footage for the interview as a lot of the band members were talking over each other during the interview and they cut over some interesting talking points that we would like to have included in our finished documentary.
9/12/13
·         Priestley College
·         Sony AVCHD Video Camera, Boom Mic
·         Filmed the college’s music and music technology students rehearsing/recording in the college recording studio.

Scott Brace & Elliot McCabe
We got some good footage with this filming we did, we got some good shots of some music production in action which worked with the theme of our documentary, unsigned artists.
